Sexuality Education Programming for Colleges
The History of the Vibrator
Did you know that the first vibrator was a metal and wood steam powered medical device used to treat sexually repressed Victorian era women?Showcasing a collection of antique vibrators from the 1800s through today, sexologist Jill McDevitt tells the history of the vibrator and the transformation of female sexuality from a medical
disorder to a celebrated social norm.
How to Feel Sexy Naked
Truly great sex starts from within, when a woman feels
confident and comfortable in her own skin. But how does one achieve this?
Through a series of interactive self-reflection activities, Jill encourages
students to face the juxtaposition that we as a society claim to be concerned
about eating disorders and body hatred, but then punish women who are sexually
confidence and love their bodies by calling them “sluts” or “cocky”. Student
will confront their own body image, the ways they treat other women, and learn
to “pay it forward”.
The Female Orgasm
One of the saddest truths about sex is that most women are so unsatisfied that they fake orgasm to "get it over with". No longer! Whether you've never experienced the big O, or if you want to learn to have multiples, this fun and educational class will explore the two main reasons women are unsatisfied with their orgasm- insecurity about their genitals and misinformation about how orgasms happen. From the hilarious ice-breaker game, to the silly demonstration with Margeaux the Vulva Puppet, you'll not only learn all about your or your partner's lady bits, but also how to confidently intensify your orgasm so you'll never have to fake it again!
Safer and Sexy
By the time they get to college, most students have been lectured on safer sex. All of the presentations used slideshows of sore-covered genitals and other gory scare tactics. None of the presentations were fun. Until now...
Jill gives the straight talk on STI prevention while leading the students on a series of games and activities that induce laughing alongside learning. From the "condom relay race" to the humorous "harmonica job" discussion, "Safe and Sexy" uses a harm reduction model to help
participants learn to realistically balance their sexual health with sexual pleasure. Includes a free condom for everyone!
Sex: Am I Normal?
As a sexologist, the #1 question Jill gets asked is, “am I
normal?” In this interactive college program, students use their cell phones to
anonymously ask and answer questions about their sexual attitudes and behaviors,
and their responses come up in real time as bar charts. Some moments are funny,
others are shocking, but in the end the students walk away with a feeling of
being normal as they see that others in the room have shared their experience
or feelings, and also a sense of compassion about the sexual insecurities and
fears of others. Questions can be customized to any group!
The Politics of Sexual Oppression
From the man who was arrested for walking around his own
house naked, to the woman who was jailed for wearing a t-shirt that says “I
have the pussy so I make the rules” Jill
leads a discussion on rampant American sexual oppression, highlighting the
laws, the politics, and the psychology of oppress as it relates to sex.
Reflecting on her own experiences of being a victim of sexual oppression, Jill
encourages the audience to reflect on their own sexual oppression while
examining ways in which they may also be the oppressor.
All Things Penis NEW!
By popular demand to compliment the bestselling "Female Orgasm" workshop, this workshop will be all things penis- penile anatomy, health, pleasure, history, and social influence. Using games, activities, and small group discussion, Jill will highlight circumcision, myths about penis size, provide "penis and semen fun facts", pleasure techniques, and consent.
The 21 Year-Old EntrepreneurNEW!
This is a motivational and empowering talk about women in
business. Jill tells about her journey of how she was able to start a
successful company at just 21 years old, and gives tips for young people who
want to do likewise, focusing on start-up how-to’s and strategies for finding a
passion and staying true to your feminist/social justice values in a cut throat
business world.
Peckers, Beavers, and Other Sex Slang NEW!
This interactive presentation is about the words and
language people use when they talk about sex and sexuality, and the
implications for those word choices. For example, when intercourse is
described, in the most basic clinical sense, why is it “when a man puts his
penis in a woman’s vagina”? Why not “when a woman’s vagina accepts a man’s
penis”? There will be games and fun, and also critical thinking and examination
of the etymology of sex slang and word choices in topics such as masturbation,
genitals, and rape.
